Saints placed K Olindo
Mare (hip) on injured
reserve, ending his season. Martin Gramatica will take
over. Mare was a huge disappointment early in the season,
along with the rest of the Saints' offense, but unlike
them never really got it together. New Orleans should
bring in more cost effective offseason competition. |

"questionable" tag. |
|
December 15, 2007

Heap did not participate. He took limited reps earlier in
the week. Quinn Sypniewski is expected to start in Heap's
place. |

December 8, 2007
Reggie Bush
has a partially torn left knee ligament that likely won't
require surgery but could sideline him for Monday night's
game at Atlanta and possibly for the rest of the season. A
person familiar with the injury told The Associated Press
that Bush did not expect to play Monday night and likely
would not risk further aggravating the injury by playing
again this season. The person requested anonymity because
of the delicacy of the situation. Saints coach Sean Payton
said Bush would be listed as questionable on the injury
report and added whether Bush plays against the Falcons
will be a game-time decision. "We'll monitor where he's
at," Payton said after Friday's practice, which Bush sat
out. "I'm still hopeful for this weekend's game based on
how he practiced yesterday." Payton added it was "a little
premature," to predict Bush would miss the rest of the
season. He was expected to seek a second opinion from Dr.
James Andrews, an orthopedic surgeon based in Birmingham,
Ala. |

December 8, 2007
Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt said Friday that WR
Larry Fitzgerald
(groin) is listed as questionable and will be a game-time

decision Week 14 at Seattle. Boldin finally took to the
practice field Friday, but is still looking for the
perfect orthotic fit so he can play against the Seahawks.
"I found one that was a little better," Boldin told
NFL.com. "We took the plate out of the bottom. If I can
(play), I will. … I have never been in this position (with
a team in contention). I want to take full advantage of
it." |
|

Marshawn Lynch is likely
to play Sunday when Buffalo hosts the winless Dolphins.

to happen and there's a chance he could play," head coach
Tony Dungy said on Thursday. |
|
December 1, 2007

Broncos limited Walker on Wednesday before throwing him
into full workouts Thursday and Friday, and he responded
by finishing them.
|
|
December 1, 2007
Devin Hester
(probable, foot) was limited in Bears practice Friday. The
"probable" tag means he's virtually certain to be ready
and waiting for the ball if Giants P Jeff Feagles decides
to kick to Hester. The Giants say that's not going to
happen, but we'll find out for sure on Sunday.
|

Both coach Mike Shanahan and
Javon Walker (knee,
questionable) say they expect Walker to play Sunday
against the Bears. Walker experienced knee swelling after
going through complete practices Wednesday and Thursday,
and was limited Friday. Due to the unpredictable nature of
a swollen knee (see Ahman Green), there is still plenty of
reason to believe Walker could be inactive. Consider him a
classic game-day decision and have alternatives ready.
Brandon Stokley would start if Walker can't.
|
|
November 25, 2007
Reggie Williams
was added to Jacksonville's
Week 12 injury report with a back injury. He is listed as

it appears running back duties will mostly fall to Reuben
Droughns, with rookie Ahmad Bradshaw possibly getting a
few touches.
|
|

Jacobs (hamstring) did
not participate in practice Friday, Nov. 23. He is listed

|
|
November 25, 2007
Jesse Chatman
(ankle, questionable) remains a
game-time decision for Monday night after being limited in
practice Saturday. Those covering the Dolphins say Chatman
didn't improve, and reportedly got worse, as the week wore
on. If Chatman is declared inactive Monday evening, Ricky
Williams would be a desperate flex play in a tough matchup
at Pittsburgh. Ricky probably won't see a full workload in
his first game back.
|
|
November 25, 2007
The Eagles have downgraded QB
Donovan McNabb
(ankle, thumb) to "out" for Week 12. A.J. Feeley gets the
nod Sunday at New England, while special teamer J.R. Reed
will take Mikell's spot at strong safety. Feeley has a
difficult matchup and should only be used in two-QB
leagues.
|
|
November 19, 2007
Kurt Warner
and the Cardinals face a favorable matchup at Cincinnati
in Week 11. The Bengals rank 28th in pass defense and have

them. |
|

would start for the club when he's healthy, not
Joey Harrington,
who led the team to their two most recent victories. |
|
November 19, 2007

Rex Grossman
in the game. |
|
November 19, 2007
Lions QB Jon Kitna
(back) is listed as probable for Week 11 vs. N.Y. Giants.

They also lead the NFL in sacks with 32. |
|

season. "He will not play Sunday," Kubiak said. "He will
be down. |
|
November 19, 2007
Eagles RB Brian
Westbrook missed practice
for the second straight day with a knee injury and is
questionable for the Eagles' game against Miami on Sunday.
"I think he'll be ready to go," coach Andy Reid said
Friday. "It's not bad. There's a little swelling."
Westbrook missed one game earlier this season with an
abdominal injury and often plays despite missing practice.
Reid said Westbrook noticed some swelling in his knee
after lifting weights following Wednesday's practice. He
was held out of practice the next two days because the
team practiced indoors on an artificial surface. If
Westbrook doesn't play,
Correll Buckhalter would
start. |
|
November 19, 2007
The Colts released their injury report for Week 11
against the Chiefs and have listed WR

sidelined for several games. The Colts issued no further
statements about his status. He has 20 catches for 247
yards and one touchdown in five games. |
|

practices Thursday and Friday after limited reps
Wednesday. |
|
November 10, 2007
Broncos RB Travis Henry
(knee) is listed as questionable for Week 10 at Kansas
City. Henry returned to limited reps in practice Friday
after sitting out the previous two days. Henry was not
able to practice Thursday because the swelling had not
reduced in his knee, according to The Denver Post. |
|
November 10, 2007

had full participation in practice Friday after being
limited Thursday with a toe injury. He is expected to play
Sunday against the Jaguars. |
|
November 10, 2007

but did some conditioning drills, according to the Tacoma
News-Tribune. He is expected to be a game-time decision. |
|
November 10, 2007

knee will keep him out Week 10 at San Diego. Harrison
didn't make the trip to San Diego on Saturday. He
participated in limited practice work this week and was
previously listed as questionable for the game. |
|
November 10, 2007
Giants WR Plaxico Burress
did not practice Friday
and was listed as questionable for Sunday's game against
the Dallas Cowboys. Burress has not taken part in practice
for most of the season while he contends with a nagging
right ankle injury he sustained in training camp.Expect
Burress to play against the Cowboys. Consider him a No. 1
WR in this matchup. In his first game against Dallas this
season, he totaled 144 yards and three touchdowns. |
|
November 3, 2007
Todd Heap
(hamstring) went through limited drills for the Ravens
Thursday. The Ravens appear to be easing Heap back into it
after he missed a pair of games prior to the team's Week 8
bye. He's fully expected to start against Pittsburgh on
Monday night, and could be listed as probable Friday.
|
|
November 3, 2007
Alge Crumpler
(knee, ankle) missed another practice on Thursday.
Crumpler is now looking doubtful to play against San
Francisco, which is a bad sign considering he's coming off
a bye. Dwayne Blakley is his backup.
|
|
November 3, 2007
Deion Branch
(foot) missed his second straight practice Thursday. He
did perform some conditioning drills. It doesn't look like
he'll face the Browns at this point, despite Seahawks
coach Mike Holmgren saying Wednesday that Branch has a
50-50 chance to do so. He'll likely be called questionable
at best on Friday's injury report.
|
|
November 3, 2007
While coach Gary Kubiak indicated after Thursday's
practice that Andre
Johnson has a good chance
to play Sunday at Oakland, the Houston Chronicle reports
the people around Johnson are telling him to sit out.
Johnson resumed working with the first-team offense this
week, but clearly isn't at full strength and may risk
aggravating his knee injury before Houston's Week 10 bye.
Johnson's original plan was reportedly to sit out the
game, but strides he made in practice Thursday have the
team thinking he could play. Even if he goes, Johnson
could see limited snaps on Sunday.
|
|
November 3, 2007
Minnesota Vikings WR Bobby
Wade (knee) did not
participate in practice Thursday, Nov. 1. He is doubtful
for Week 9. If he does play in the game, he will likely

for the game if necessary.
|
| |
October 27,
2007
The 49ers have officially listed RB
Frank Gore
as probable for Week 8 against the Saints after an ankle
injury limited him in practice this week. Gore's already
said he expects to play this week. "It was all right, and
it'll get better day by day," said Gore, who has just 394
yards rushing after leading the NFC last year. "We'll just
wrap it up, and I'll try to go out there and play on it."
|
| |
October 27,
2007
According to Rams coach Scott Linehan, RB
Steven Jackson
could be limited this week in his return against the
Browns. Jackson has missed the past three games with a
partial tear in his groin. "It wouldn't be normal,"
Linehan said of Jackson's workload. "It will be modified
from his normal (workload). It depends on how he feels,
but it won't be every play of the game."
|
| |
October 27,
2007
Rudi Johnson
did some light drills during pre-practice warm-ups Friday,
but hasn't gone through even a limited workout in two
weeks. Kenny Watson, who had a huge Week 7, will start
again. He makes for a solid flex play in
points-per-reception leagues, but don't expect another big
day against the Steelers.

| |
October 20,
2007
Travis Henry's
hearing on the appeal of the NFL's ruling that he violated
the drug policy has been tentatively scheduled for
November 5th. The hearing is "tentative" because Henry is
appealing the case in New York courts and that could
postpone things. Regardless, it appears the earliest Henry
could start serving his suspension is in Week 10. |
| |
October 20,
2007
Patriots TE Ben Watson
was listed as "questionable" on Friday's injury report.
Watson didn't practice all week, and will likely be a
game-time decision. Owners should definitely have a backup
plan in place. Kyle Brady would start in his absence and
make a borderline TE2 option. |
| |
October 20,
2007
ChicagoBears.com, reports Chicago Bears RB
Adrian N. Peterson
has been replacing RB Cedric Benson in passing situations
due to Peterson's experience in pass blocking and pass
protections. Bears offensive coordinator Ron Turner said,
"Cedric is to the point now where he can do that. He's
much more comfortable doing that and we can keep him in
there. But A.P. is a very smart player protection-wise and
very experienced. He's seen a lot of things in that type
of situation, so we've had him in there. But we could very
easily go with Cedric. He's to the point now where he can
handle that." |
| |
October 20,
2007
According to the Nashville Tennessean,
Kerry Collins
remains the favorite to start for the Titans this weekend.
Vince Young
went through a limited workout on Friday with the scout
team, but apparently that wasn't enough to convince those
close to the team that he'll start at Houston. It appears
for now that V.Y. will be Collins' active backup on game
day, but that Collins will start against the Texans.
|
| |
October 20,
2007
With Chris Brown
(ankle) not expected to play Sunday, the Texans may turn
to Quinton Ganther
to back up LenDale White,
instead of Chris Henry.
Although coach Jeff Fisher says he's comfortable with
Henry's ability to pass protect, it appears he doesn't
feel confident giving the rookie the ball. That is a
strong statement about where the struggling second-rounder
is at. LenDale White is a must play RB2 this weekend
against the Texans. |
| |
October 14,
2007
The Charlotte Observer, reports Carolina Panthers QB
Vinny Testaverde
would likely start in Week 6 if QB David Carr (back) is
unable to play. |
|
October 14,
2007
The Detroit News confirms a report that
Tatum Bell
has asked to be traded, but says the Lions don't have any
apparent interest in dealing him. "(GM Matt Millen) said
he had every intention of keeping Tatum," Bell's agent
told the newspaper Friday. "Unless something were to
change, this (Detroit) is where it's at." Although Kevin
Jones has lasting injury concerns, the Lions would be
silly not to deal away Bell for the right price. He's in a
contract year and a number of teams could be intrigued by
his talent.
|
|
October 14,
2007
Newsday speculates that
Alge Crumpler could be
used to chip more now that undrafted rookie Renardo Foster
is Atlanta's starting left tackle. Crumpler blocking more
would hurt his fantasy potential for Monday night, but may
help the Falcons, whose starting tackle tandem is a
serious mismatch against Giants defensive ends Osi
Umenyiora and Michael Strahan.
|
|
October 14,
2007
The Ravens believe Steve
McNair's back injury may
have resulted from stress on his previously injured groin.
"(The back) just tightened up," coach Brian Billick said.
"I'm not sure the groin didn't lead to some tightness in
the back and the things he's having to do. It's just part
of working through the week."
|
|
October 14,
2007
Mark Clayton
reportedly strained his Achilles' tendon two weeks ago.
Clayton isn't on the injury report, but says he's still
not 100% after battling foot and toe injuries all
preseason and now this. Derrick Mason has been the
beneficiary of Clayton's struggles. Mason leads the NFL in
catches.
|
|
October 14,
2007
Vincent Jackson
practiced full again Friday and
is listed as probable for Week 6. Jackson will start
against a Raiders secondary that is headed by Nnamdi
Asomugha. Football Outsiders ranks Oakland as the NFL's
third toughest team against opposing No. 1 receivers. You
should be able to do better as a WR2.
|
|
October 14,
2007
Despite being listed as "questionable" for Week 6, the
Associated Press reports
Laveranues Coles is
expected to play against the Eagles. Coles was limited in

appears safe to keep in fantasy lineups.
|

is also listed as questionable with
an ankle injury. He did not practice Friday after limited
reps Thursday. |

The Vikings will get a boost

it, and I'm getting treatment. The swelling has gone
down." |

After publicly expressing his frustration with a lack of
catches earlier this week,
Vernon Davis
met with coach Mike Nolan to discuss his role in the
offense Wednesday. "I admire him for having the courage to
do it," Nolan said. "He said, 'Coach, I want to know what
I can do to get the ball more.' I said it's about being
prepared. Any player that wants the ball more, or wants to
play, they have to maintain their work ethic. The real key
now for him is that he continues to work." Expect Davis'
numbers to be just fine once the 49ers are forced to throw
a little more often. |

The Lions signed running back
Aveion Cason
and cut wide receiver Brandon Middleton on Wednesday.

back Kevin Jones (foot) is slowly working his way back
into playing shape. Middleton was not active against the
Raiders, and was one of the final players to make
Detroit's team. In Cason's career, he has run for 517
yards and three touchdowns and has 499 yards receiving
with two scores with Detroit, Dallas and St. Louis. |
